King of Glories, Father of life, oh magnificent redeemer. How marvelous are the works of your hands. How glorious is your name in all the earth. The heavens declare the glory and splendor of your Holy name. None is like you oh Lord. No other name makes our heart sing, no other name satisfies our soul in all the earth.
Yes, we rejoice and sing with the hymn writer: No voice can sing, no heart can frame, Nor can the memory find, a sweeter sound than thy blessed name, Oh savior of mankind.
Indeed the savior of mankind, savior of our souls. Oh how can it be? That the Lord God almighty, creator of the heavens and the earth, you who know no sin, came to be in the likeness of man, of flesh and bone, shared our weakness in a body, lived in this fallen world, suffered and died a shameful death on the cross…?
How can it be?
That The Lord God of Israel became a Man like us? You oh Lord not only dwell among us as the son of man, but died as our substitute. No! How can this be? Should we say all hail the power of Jesus name… bring forth the royal diadems and crown Him, Crown Him with many Crowns!
You angels of heaven worship him! Bow down his glory proclaim! O men of the earth adore him! With gold of obedience and incense of lowliness; Kneel and adore him, the Lord is His name. You creation of His hands: fall on your knees!
How beautiful are you O shining sun, moon and stars… But No! His glory outshines them all. Dimmed sun and dark moon, twisted dark stars, your glories are no more. For the King of glory Is! Again fall on your knees before the Lord Jesus Christ, For He is! By His Light we know the light.
You Lord are fairer than all the sons of man; Grace is poured upon your lips. Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; May your name be exalted in all the earth! May the glory of the King of kings shine forth!
For He is the I AM, the first and the last, the one who is Holy and true. The Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God, the rock of ages, Emmanuel, the Son of God…
Oh Lord what can we say? Our utterance fails us. Our heart overflows with a theme, our tongue with a limited mind lacks the proper words.
You alone can sufficiently glorify your Holy name oh Lord: So let it be, in Christ Jesus’ name! Amen.
